Okay so it's not exactly a miracle and it's not exactly all mine :) but when I got a bad sunburn today I thought it might be fun to go off topic of art for a blog and pass down some advice for all people (especially those that burn in 5 minutes like I do) for soothing a sunburn and shortening the time it hangs around.
Step #1 Vinegar
No you won't be attracting ANYTHING and yes it's a little gross but I was surprised how many people I told that to today had never even heard of it. My mother, pictured left, has been making me slather the stinky stuff on sunburns since I was little. Hence the not all Misha's miracle cure mention earlier and it's probably the most important part for shortening the sunburn. You can actually feel the heat rising off of your skin and often times, this alone has cured my sunburn in 1-2 days.
Step #2 Soothing Homemade Mask
This mask you can make at home pretty quickly and will help sooth and heal the damage to your skin. Not to mention it will help you smell a little less like vinegar!
Step #3 Burt's Bees Res Q Ointment
Finally follow with this stuff! I use it for a variety of things from cuts and bruises to tattoo healing. Ingredients include vitamin E, comfrey, lavender and wheat germ oil. Comfrey I am especially stoked on because it is a cooling herb with healing effects and has, in this product, helped me to reduce healing time by days. Apply a THIN!! amount onto your skn after showering or taking a bath, you don't want to clog your poors because you might be preventing the heat from escaping by doing so! but a little will leave you feeling a lot more comfortable and will help to heal your sunburn faster!
I hope this has been helpful even though I'm not an expert on anything this has really worked for me! and I hope it will work for you too! Now, back to making some new art!!! Thanks for reading :)
